How the bus has changed!

This is a bus from 1906. It was called a ‘motor omnibus’ and was powered by petrol. Passengers got on board at the back and reached the top deck by a spiral staircase. This is a bus called a ‘Routemaster’, first used in London in 1956. By this date, the roof, staircase and driver's cab had been covered. This is a Mercedes-Benz bus, on sale from 1997. It is a single-deck bus that bends in the middle so that it can get round corners.
